LOS ANGELES (AP) _ ``Clifford the Big Red Dog,'' an animated program based on the popular series of children's books, is coming to PBS in the fall.

The 40 half-hour episodes, airing Monday through Friday, will show Clifford's world, including his loving human pal, Emily Elizabeth, and doggie friends T-Bone and Cleo.

John Ritter (``Three's Company'') will provide the voice of Clifford, with Kel Mitchell (``Keenan & Kel'') as T-Bone, Grey DeLisle (``Caroline in the City'') as Emily Elizabeth and Cree Summer as Cleo.

In announcing the series Friday, PBS said it will emphasize good citizenship and the importance of community. ``Clifford'' is designed for 3- to-7-year-old children.
