CAIRO (AP) — Defending champion Al Ahly was drawn in the same group as Egyptian rival Zamalek for the second straight year in the African Champions League on Tuesday.

Al Ahly and Zamalek will meet in the first round of games in Group A in July.

Orlando Pirates was also drawn in Group A after the 1995 champion's progression to the continental competition's eight-team group stage, a rare recent appearance for a South African club. Pirates will open against the group's other team, AC Leopards of Republic of Congo.

Esperance of Tunisia, last year's losing finalist, was placed in Group B alongside Coton Sport of Cameroon, Recreativo de Libolo of Angola and Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast.

The top two in each of the four-team groups qualify for the semifinals.
