PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) _ Corey Koskie had three hits and three RBIs, making his 7-for-10 at the plate this spring, and the Minnesota Twins beat the Texas Rangers 8-5 Tuesday.
Scott Sheldon's two-run homer for Texas off Willie Martinez tied the score 4-all in the fifth.
Minnesota went ahead in the sixth against Brian Sikorski on an RBI single by Mike Moriarty and a two-run homer by Michael Restovich. Both are non-roster players.
Koskie had run-scoring singles in the first and in a three-run fourth. He added an RBI double in the ninth.
Martinez, the third of six Minnesota pitchers, was the winner even though he gave up three runs and five hits in two innings. Saul Rivera worked a perfect ninth for the save.
Sikorski, who in his major league debut last year threw pitched shutout innings to in a victory over the New York Yankees, was the loser. He gave up six runs and seven hits in two innings.
Ricky Ledee hit a solo homer for Texas in the sixth.
Notes: New Texas SS Alex Rodriguez sat out for the first time this spring. He is to make the trip to St. Petersburg on Wednesday for a game against Tampa Bay. ... The two walks by starter Ryan Glynn in the first inning equaled the number of walks issued by Texas pitchers their first 25 innings.
