WINTHROP, Maine (AP) — A high school student in Maine was removed from campus after authorities say he sent a threatening message on social media.

The Kennebec Journal reports that the Winthrop High School student is accused of sending a message on Instagram. School officials discovered the message Wednesday, the day classes started.

Interim Superintendent Cornelia Brown says the school contacted police, who charged the student with terrorizing. The student was removed from school by his parents.
