Dow Slips 32; Nasdaq Drops 5

NEW YORK (AP) _ The Dow Jones industrial average is down 32 points in today's early going. Losing issues on the New York Stock Exchange hold a 9-7 lead over gainers.
The Nasdaq Composite Index is off five points and the Standard & Poor's 500 Stock Index is down two points.
Wall Street will get retail news this morning, with earnings reports from several major retailers including Home Depot, J.C. Penney and Target.
As far as economic news, the Federal Reserve reports that industrial production rose 0.4 percent in July, in line with expectations.
Going into today's session, the Dow had risen in ten of the previous eleven sessions.
