PLAISTOW, N.H. (AP) — An 81-year-old nun has been accused of getting in a car accident in a New Hampshire department store parking lot and then driving away.
WMUR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1nK10Z4) Sister Rachel Dumont is charged with conduct after an accident, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail upon conviction.
Police say Dumont struck a vehicle Dec. 16 in a Kohl's store parking lot in Plaistow. The drivers were unhurt, and there was little damage to the vehicles.
Police say when the driver of the other car got out to exchange information Dumont drove away.
The nun later turned herself in to police. She has been released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned April 4.
It's unknown if she has a lawyer. A message left at a telephone number listed for her hasn't been returned.
