DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) — Indy Point won the $95,050 Wickerr Stakes at Del Mar on Wednesday, beating Endorsement by 1¼ lengths in his U.S. debut after an impressive 3-year-old campaign in his native Argentina.

Ridden by all of Famer Gary Stevens for trainer Richard Mandella, Indy Point was fourth in early, took the lead from pacesetter Endorsement in the homestretch and held on to win, covering a mile on the turf in 1:32.74.

The 4-year-old Indy Point arrived at Mandella's barn early this year but had to wait to make his debut after a virus limited his training. The colt has won six times in 13 career starts and has never finished worse than third.

Indy Point paid $6.20, $4.60 and $2.10. Endorsement returned $13.20 and $9.40, and Tigah paid $5.80 to show.
