NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — Nashua officials are moving forward with a $15.5 million performing arts center.

The Nashua Board of aldermen voted 14-1 Tuesday to approve the complex. Mayor Jim Donchess has endorsed the resolution. The board had voted against the project last year.

Officials plan to renovate a shoe store building on Main Street for the roughly 500-seat facility.

City Arts Nashua member Marjorie Bollinger Hogan says the group is thrilled about the project. Hogan says the complex will improve Nashua's "thriving art scene."
