ROME (AP) _ Libya's soccer association has denounced the selection of the United States as host of the 1994 World Cup soccer championship, Libya's JANA news agency said Wednesday.
The association called for establishment of an international sports ruling body that ''responds to the ambitions of sportsmen of the Third World,'' said the JANA dispatch, monitored in Rome.
FIFA, the soccer world's governing body, chose the United States as host on Monday, passing over Brazil and Morocco, which also bid to stage the event.
The Libyan Arab Football General Union said the snubbing of Morocco, a fellow Arab and North African country, was ''another proof of the unfairness of the world sports prevailing regime and reflects its deep involvement with the circles of monopoly and imperialism.''
Libya's soccer team recently advanced to the second African qualifying round in the competition to reach the 1990 World Cup finals, which will be held in Italy.
