PARSIPPANY, N.J. (AP) _ Pinnacle Foods Inc. (PF) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $56.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Parsippany, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 47 cents. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions and non-recurring costs, were 59 cents per share.

The maker of Birds Eye frozen foods, Duncan Hines frosting and cake mixes and Vlasic pickles posted revenue of $741.8 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $749.6 million.

Pinnacle Foods expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.85 to $2.95 per share.

Pinnacle Foods shares have climbed 11 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 12 percent in the last 12 months.
