CARTHAGE, Maine (AP) — A teenager has been killed in western Maine after becoming entangled in some rope while riding a small dirt motorcycle.

Wardens were called to Carthage about 8 p.m. Sunday following the dirt-bike accident involving a 15-year-old boy from Carthage.

The Maine Warden Service says the boy was carrying a coil of rope that became entangled in the rear wheel. He then became entangled in the rope as well, leading to his death.

The case is under investigation. The boy's name has not been released.
