Dow up 8; Nasdaq Up 19

NEW YORK (AP) _ Stock prices were higher in early Wall Street trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up eight points. On the New York Stock Exchange, advancers held a five-to-four advantage over decliners.
The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 19 points and the Standard-and-Poor's 500 Stock Index was up two points.
Stocks got an early boost after a business update from Cisco Systems.
The network equipment maker announced a corporate reorganization and said its business is showing signs of steadying.
On the economic front, the government reported another decline in durable goods orders last month. The six-tenths of a percent drop was a little better than expected, though.
And a report on new home sales for July was due at 10 a-m Eastern.
