MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic congressional candidate Randy Bryce says he has raised $1.2 million over the past three months.

Bryce is an iron worker running against Janesville teacher Cathy Myers in the Democratic primary in the race to replace House Speaker Paul Ryan in the southeast Wisconsin congressional district.

Myers has not yet released her latest fundraising totals but she has lagged Bryce, who started earlier and garnered national attention with his slick launch video.

Bryce said Monday that he has more than $2 million cash on hand as the Aug. 14 primary nears. He says he's raised more than $6 million since launching his campaign in June 2017. Ryan announced in April that he wasn't seeking re-election.

Ryan has endorsed his former aide, Bryan Steil (STYLE), in the GOP primary for the seat.
