COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) _ U.S. weightlifter Edris Gonzales was suspended for six years on Tuesday after testing positive for testosterone use.

Gonzales showed elevated ratios of testosterone-epitestosterone at an out-of-competition test Feb. 21. He accepted the suspension, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said.

Gonzales, 31, of Merchantville, N.J., earlier forfeited a bronze medal in the 231-pound division at the 1999 Pan American Games for an elevated ratio level.
