JENNINGS, Mo. (AP) — A suburban St. Louis man is accused of killing a 5-year-old girl and badly injuring her 4-year-old sister.

Prosecutors on Thursday charged 28-year-old Adrian Mobley of Jennings with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of abuse or neglect of a child. He is jailed on $1 million bond.

Mobley is accused of repeatedly striking 5-year-old A'Yonna Milton in the head, chest and abdomen on Wednesday. She suffered brain and internal injuries and died at a hospital.

The child's younger sister also suffered severe injuries and remains hospitalized.

Police say Mobley admitted to the attacks of his girlfriend's daughters.
