LOGAN, Utah (AP) _ Maurice Spillers scored 22 points to lead Utah State to an 87-50 rout of Irvine on Saturday night.

The Aggies (16-7 overall, 9-3 Big West Conference) broke a two-game slide with the victory.

Irvine (1-20, 1-11), the Big West's last-place team, remained tied for the most losses in Division I basketball this season.

Marcus Saxon dropped in 14 points for USU, while Kevin Rice contributed 10.

The Anteaters were led by Lamarr Parker's 21 points, while Wendell Robinson had 15.

Irvine's second-leading scorer on the season, Brian Johnson (11.1 points per game) was unable to play Saturday due to a death in the family.

Irvine went eight minutes without scoring while USU went on a 20-0 run, leading 63-31 midway through the second half.

USU had dropped two straight games since losing guard Duane Rogers to a knee injury. Neal Geddes volunteered to lose a planned redshirt year to give coach Larry Eustachy an extra man on his short-handed bench, finishing with 8 points in 17 minutes.
