SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have released the identity of a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a car in South Hadley.

The Northwestern District Attorney's office says 88-year-old Michihiro Yoshida, of South Hadley, died after being struck Wednesday morning.

Police found Yoshida after responding to a pedestrian struck at College and Church streets near the campus of Mount Holyoke College.

Yoshida was taken to a hospital and later died. Police say the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. No charges have been filed.

Authorities say they are still investigating the crash.
