SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Doug Harris scored a career-high 35 points, including five 3-point goals, to lead San Diego to a 90-80 victory Tuesday night over Cal State Northridge.
Harris, a 6-foot senior guard, hit 13-of-22 field goal attempts, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range. Harris' previous career best was 30 points against Portland Jan. 14.
The five 3-pointers gave Harris 63 for the season, breaking the school single-season record.
San Diego (11-15) broke the game open early in the second half after a 41-41 tie at halftime.
The Toreros, who opened the game with a 16-2 run, outscored Northridge, 19-5, in the first 6:28 of the second half to take a 60-46 lead.
San Diego made 27 of 40 free throws, including 19 of 27 in the second half.
Sean Flannery added 17 points in the victory and Brian Bruso had 13.
Northridge (7-18), which drew no closer than seven points in the final 13 minutes of the game, was paced by Michael Dorsey's 23 points and game-high 10 rebounds.
Reserves Ryan Martin and Trenton Cross added 17 and 16 points.
San Diego, which finished its regular-season schedule, opens play Saturday in the West Coast Conference tournament at Santa Clara against Gonzaga.
