Broncos Lineman Suspended a Year
Jul. 25, 2000
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) _ Cyron Brown of the Denver Broncos was suspended by the NFL for one season Tuesday for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
The league said the 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive tackle can apply for reinstatement following the 2000 season.
Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said he had known for about two weeks that Brown would be suspended. He declined to elaborate on the violation.
``He's not coming back here, I will say that,'' Shanahan said.
Brown, who played at Western Illinois, joined Denver in 1998.
