SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Arizona Diamondbacks ace Randy Johnson came off the disabled list Sunday and made his first start since having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee May 1.

Johnson's outing against the last-place San Diego Padres came after he made three minor league rehabilitation starts. Johnson was 1-2 with a 6.94 ERA before he was put on the DL on April 28. His last start was April 27, when he struck out 12 and beat the New York Mets 7-3.

To make room for Johnson, right-hander Brady Raggio was sent outright to Triple-A Tucson.
