Nov. 29, 2013
ANTIOCH, Ill. (AP) — A north suburban man is facing felony charges after police say he shot himself in the arm and then lied about it.
The (Lake County) News-Sun (http://bit.ly/1bp55cU ) reports that 18-year-old Colin Henderson was charged with filing a false police report and possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card.
Officers responded to Henderson's Antioch home Monday morning in reference to a call about shots fired.
Henderson had a gunshot wound in his left upper arm and told police he had been shot by someone who had driven away. After giving a conflicting report at the hospital, Henderson later admitted to police that he shot himself to get attention.
Henderson was ordered held on $25,000 bond. His next court date is Dec. 3.
