Jayson Williams Gets NBA Honors

NEW YORK (AP) _ New Jersey forward Jayson Williams, who averaged 18.3 points and 17.8 rebounds last week, was selected NBA player of the week Monday.
Williams scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds in a win against San Antonio and 25 points and 19 rebounds in a victory against Houston as New Jersey went 2-2 last week.
Williams had 23 points and 23 rebounds in a loss to Chicago and 15 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to Washington.
Williams beat out Charlotte's Matt Geiger and Glen Rice, Cleveland's Shawn Kemp, the Lakers' Shaquille O'Neal, Miami's Tim Hardaway, Toronto's Damon Stoudamire, Utah's Karl Malone and Washington's Chris Webber.
