INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (AP) _ Steffi Graf, sidelined with a foot injury since winning the season-ending WTA Tour Championships in November, has entered next week's State Farm Evert Cup.

Co-ranked No. 1 with Monica Seles, Graf will join an elite field that includes Seles, Conchita Martinez, Gabriela Saatini, Kimiko Date, Anke Huber, Mary Joe Fernandez, Lindsay Davenport and Chanda Rubin.

Graf won the Evert Cup in 1994, the last time she competed in Indian Wells. Last year, she won three of the four Grand Slam tournaments _ the French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open _ before defeating Huber in a five-set match to win the WTA Tour Championships.

After undergoing foot surgery, Graf missed the Australian Open in January, which was won by Seles.

This year's Evert Cup, scheduled for March 8-16, will be played simultaneously for the first time with the men's Newsweek Champions Cup.

The tournament is one of only six that combines both men and women, the others being the four Grand Slam tournaments and the Lipton Championships.
