TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) _ LaNisha Cartwell had 19 points and six rebounds, and Alabama overcame 33 points by LaToya Thomas in a 92-86 victory Thursday night over No. 25 Mississippi State.

The Crimson Tide (14-8, 4-5 Southeastern) had three other players in double figures and shot nearly 62 percent. Mississippi State (16-7, 7-3) also got 20 points from Tan White.

Its was coach Rick Moody's 267th career victory, tying him with former men's coach Wimp Sanderson for the most in Alabama basketball history.

Shondra Johnson added 18 points, Beth Vice 17 and Katie Sipe 12 for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama, which led by just two points at halftime, finished up making 34-of-55 shots.
