Ferry Accident in India Drowns 13

NEW DELHI, India (AP) _ At least 13 people drowned and 56 were missing when two boats ferrying 150 passengers across a river in eastern India capsized, news agencies reported Thursday.
The two boats were tied together when the accident happened Wednesday in Murshidabad in West Bangal state, the Press Trust of India said.
Police officer Prasun Mukherjee said 13 bodies had been recovered from the Bhagirathi river but police were still searching for the 56 missing people. The dead included nine children and three women, PTI reported.
Eighty-two people swam to safety.
