PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say a 31-year-old Litchfield Park man has been arrested an SUV crash in which an 8-year-old girl was killed and other occupants of an SUV driven by the man were injured.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety identified the arrested man on suspicion of manslaughter and other crimes as Eric Christopher Morris. He was identified in jail and court records as Christopher Eric McMorris.
The crash occurred early Tuesday morning near Tonopah west of Phoenix.
A probable-cause statement says officers found indications of drug use by McMorris and that other drivers reported the SUV was speeding and swerving before it went into the median and then off the highway.
There was no immediate indication whether McMorris had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
