DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) _ Mickey Mouse won't be giggling and laughing with children in Dubai next week.
Walt Disney Co. canceled a series of shows scheduled to begin Saturday at Dubai's Bur Juman mall due to security concerns following the U.S. missile strikes against Sudan and Afghanistan, mall manager Eisa Ibrahim said Tuesday. He said the decision was made by Disney headquarters in Los Angeles.
Characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy had been scheduled to put on three days of shows.
The U.S. Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has advised Americans to exercise caution in the emirate, but has not said there is a specific threat to U.S. citizens in the country.
