HOUSTON (AP) _ Houston Astros right-handed reliever Jay Powell was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday, with tendinitis in his right shoulder.

Since returning, he was 1-0 in 4 2-3 innings of four games, giving up five hits and four runs.
He last pitched Sunday at San Francisco. On Tuesday, he attempted to warm up before the game at Enron Field with the Dodgers, but complained of pain in his shoulder.
Right-hander Mike Maddux was activated from the DL to replace Powell. Maddux missed 29 games since going on the DL May 21 with a strained right groin.
He is 2-2 with a 5.48 ERA in 18 appearances.
