AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ Joe Ruttman tied a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series record Friday by winning his third consecutive pole during qualifying for the Chevy Trucks 150.

Ruttman qualified at 129.204 mph, a record on Phoenix International Raceway's mile oval.

``The guys worked real hard, and we're real excited how the performance turned up,'' said Ruttman, who drove his Dodge to the pole positions at two Florida races earlier this season but finished 19th in Daytona and fourth in Homestead.

Andy Houston, Marty Houston and Greg Biffle _ the next three qualifiers _ also eclipsed the old mark of 128.402 mph set last year by Jack Sprague, the only other driver in the series to win three consecutive poles.

The 36-truck event will be contest Saturday as part of an Indy Racing League weekend at the track outside of Phoenix.
