SAN ANTONIO (AP) _ At least four people were shot today at a paging company on the city's northeast side, where police are in a standoff with the gunman, a fire department official said.

``The first call we got was a from a female that was one of the victims,'' said Capt. Frank Xiques, a supervisor in the city's communications division for the fire and emergency medical service division.

``She indicated that somebody had walked in and shot three people. She indicated that she was shot. Very calmly she gave the address and any information we needed.''

At least one woman was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center. She was suffering a gunshot wound to the head, said Craig Martin, a hospital spokesman.
