COSBY SENTENCING SET FOR SEPTEMBER
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Bill Cosby will be sentenced Sept. 24 — five months after he was convicted of sexual assault. Judge Steven O'Neill set the date on Tuesday. Cosby's lawyers had asked to delay sentencing until December. Cosby turns 81 in July and is likely to face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. Cosby has been a prisoner in his suburban Philadelphia mansion since the April 26 conviction. That's the home where jurors concluded he drugged and molested a former Temple University athletics administrator in January 2004.
RIHANNA BREAK-IN SUSPECT CHARGED
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man authorities say broke into Rihanna's home and hung out there for 12 hours has been charged with stalking the singer. Los Angeles County prosecutors say 26-year-old Eduardo Leon of Fullerton, California has been hit with a series of charges for the incursion, which occurred on May 9. Rihanna wasn't at her Hollywood Hills digs when the incident occurred; an assistant found the guy and called police. Leon is charged with felony counts of stalking burglary and vandalism — and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. The suspect was in court yesterday — and pleaded not guilty to all the charges he faces.

NEW YORK (AP) — CBS is soaring in the ratings with major plot moves on the season finales of its two most popular shows. Sheldon and Amy tied the knot on the comedy "The Big Bang Theory." The Nielsen company said Tuesday that both shows reached more than 15 million viewers last week, far above any other shows on the air last week.
NOT AS MUCH POLITICS ON 'ROSEANNE'
NEW YORK (AP) — Expect "Roseanne" to cool it on politics and concentrate on family stories when it returns for the second season of its revival next year. That's the word from ABC Entertainment chief Channing Dungey as she introduced the network's plans for next year on Tuesday. The show's return exceeded all expectations this spring, with the support of Roseanne Barr's character for President Donald Trump attracting attention. Dungey noted that as the first season went on, the focus shifted from politics to family. She said that direction will continue next season. ABC is bringing back its "TGIF" Friday comedy schedule in the fall, and Alec Baldwin will star in a Sunday-night talk show.
DANNY DeVITO - HIGH SCHOOL PROM
CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — Danny DeVito has often been called short. But at a recent appearance, he could also be described as exceedingly thin. That's because the "Danny DeVito" who attended a high school prom in Carlisle, Pennsylvania — was actually a cardboard cutout of the actor. A senior at the school decided to have DeVito as her "date" this past Friday. And all the asking she needed to do was done online — where she ordered the cardboard cutout.

LONDON (AP) — Meghan Markle's father may have changed his mind and hopes to attend the royal wedding after all. The website TMZ quotes Thomas Markle as saying he now wants to come to the wedding Saturday in Windsor, if doctors allow it. On Monday, the elder Markle was quoted as saying he would not attend the wedding to avoid embarrassing his daughter or the royal family, amid criticism over his decision to pose for wedding-preparation shots. Thomas Markle also said he suffered a heart attack last week. On Tuesday TMZ quoted him as saying "I hate the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle." But he also reportedly said doctors are still performing tests and he is not sure whether he will be released from the hospital in time for Saturday's wedding.

MARGOT KIDDER REMEMBERED
LOS ANGELES (AP) — They were a couple on the big screen. But actress Margot Kidder described the personal relationship she had with Superman star Christopher Reeve as being like brother and sister. When the first Superman film came out in 1987, both Kidder and Reeve were relative unknowns. They went on to do three more "Superman" movies. In an interview earlier this month with Detroit's WWJ radio, Kidder said she and Reeve were like brother and sister — in that they both palled around and fought with each other. Reeve, who was paralyzed in 1995 in a horse riding accident, died in 2004. Kidder died on Sunday at age 69.
