NEW YORK (AP) _ Relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Hugo in Puerto Rico are being coordinated by the Department of Puerto Rican Community Affairs in the United States, 304 Park Ave. South, New York, N.Y. 10010.

In addition, the federal Interior Department has established a 24-hour telephone number for people seeking information about the situation in the Virgin Islands. The number is 202-343-6816.
There are two American Red Cross numbers for callers who wish to pledge money for Puerto Rican hurricane relief: (800) 453-9000 for English speakers, and (800) 453-4487 for Spanish speakers.
Checks can be sent to the American Red Cross in Greater New York, P.O. Box 4691, Grand Central Station, New York, N.Y. 10164.
Donations can be made at all area branches of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Banco De Ponce and Manufacturers Hanover Trust, which have set up special disaster relief accounts.
