Golfer Killed By Kick on Golf Course
Oct. 21, 1996
NEW BERLIN, Wis. (AP) _ A dispute on the 18th hole of a golf course led to the death of a 51-year-old golfer, who apparently was kicked in the chest.
Some at the New Berlin Hills Golf Course said the assailant and two partners immediately fled in a car; others said the threesome finished the hole first.
The victim, whose name had not been released, was found collapsed Saturday afternoon at the suburban Milwaukee municipal course. His young son was standing nearby.
``The son was wailing someone kicked his father in the stomach and then he said in the chest,'' said Gary Hintz, who lives nearby.
No arrest had been made. Investigators said Sunday they were pursuing the death as a homicide. District Attorney Paul Bucher said authorities were also considering evidence the man who did the kicking was struck first.
