BRAIDWOOD, Ill. (AP) _ The bodies of two men missing for more than two days were found in the wreckage of their helicopter in a cornfield, authorities said.

The bodies of the pilot, Michael Berard, 31, of Crest Hill and his father Ronald, 51, were found Thursday evening in the field about half a mile from the cooling pond of the Braidwood nuclear power plant, said Grundy County Sheriff Jim Olson.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, the sheriff said.

Jim Kramer, a friend of the Berards who manages Eagle Air Helicopter service of Aurora, said Michael Berard owned the helicopter and speculated that the father and son might have gone fishing in the cooling pond.

Olson said the last contact with the pair was Tuesday evening as they headed for a sportsman's club. There was no indication that their helicopter was in trouble, he said.
