ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Latest on Maya Rockeymoore Cummings suspending her campaign for Maryland governor:
Maryland U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings has been admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital for a bacterial infection in his knee.
His office said doctors drained the infection in a minor procedure on Friday. Cummings' office says he is resting comfortably and expects a full recovery.
The 66-year-old leading Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee had a heart procedure last year. He was hospitalized for a few days in May for a transarterial aortic valve replacement to treat aortic stenosis.
His office announced the latest medical procedure on the same day as his wife, Maya Rockeymoore Cummings announced she was suspending her campaign for Maryland governor.

The wife of U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings announced Friday she was withdrawing from the Democratic primary "due to personal considerations."
Her announcement narrows the crowded Maryland Democratic primary for governor from eight to seven candidates. The primary is June 26.
Rockeymoore Cummings is currently president and CEO of Global Policy Solutions, a Washington-based consulting firm she founded in 2005.
