CINCINNATI (AP) _ Defensive end Ray Seals, a 10-year NFL veteran, has told the Cincinnati Bengals he intends to retire.

Seals, 33, had signed a one-year Bengals contract as a free agent on April 15 after playing last season with the Carolina Panthers.

He previously played with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

His removal from the roster leaves the Bengals with 77 signed players and six unsigned draft choices.

The Bengals open training camp July 23 at Georgetown (Ky.) College.
