Owners of Unruly Parrots Get Help
May. 23, 2002
EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) _ Veterinarians at a Scottish university said Thursday they will give lessons for owners of unruly parrots.
Gidona Goodman of Edinburgh University said parrots were gregarious creatures which thrived on human company.
But if not treated properly, parrots could behave antisocially _ just like humans, she said.
``Parrots are sociable, intelligent birds that can create behavioral problems if they are not looked after in an appropriate manner,'' said Goodman.
She said the seminars would provide owners with fresh insight into parrot psychology and provide tips on how to make their birds better-behaved.
