ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ Marcus Faison scored 22 points to lead Siena to a 66-65 win over Massachusettes Thursday night in the opening round of the National Invitation Tournament.

Faison sparked a comeback by the Saints (24-8) with his six points in 60 seconds with less than four minutes left in the game.

Freshman Michael Buhrman scored his first points of the game with a tip-in with 1:03 left. With eight seconds left, he grabbed a rebound and was fouled. He missed the free throw, but Siena's defense held as Shannon Crooks' drive failed.

For Massachusetts (17-16), Monty Mack had 20 points and four assists while leading most of the Minutemen's scoring runs.

Siena plays Penn State, which beat Princeton 55-41 on Wednesday, in a second-round game Monday at a site to be determined.
