SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) _ Hakeem Olajuwon had 24 points and nine rebounds as the Houston Rockets won their eighth straight game, 107-93 over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.

After a sluggish first half and sitting out the entire third quarter with a sore back, Charles Barkley scored 11 of his 15 points in the first 5:14 of the fourth. He muscled inside for back-to-back baskets, putting Houston ahead 93-79 with 6:46 left.

Sacramento went on an 11-2 run, cutting the lead to 98-91 with 1:58 remaining. But Scottie Pippen, who finished with 17 points, made a 3-pointer with the shot-clock running down to put the Rockets up by 10.

Cuttino Mobley scored 14 points and reserve Othella Harrington had 13 points for the Rockets.

Kings forward Chris Webber, the league's leading rebounder, had the flu and did not attend the game.

Jason Williams led the Kings with 21 points. Lawrence Funderburke, who started in place of Webber, had 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Vlade Divac added 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Houston scored 10 straight points late in the second quarter and led 51-47 at halftime.

Olajuwon scored 11 points and Harrington had nine as the Rockets built a 75-66 lead after three quarters. Mobley made a 3-pointer with two seconds left in the period as the Rockets closed with a 7-1 run.
