PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Pinch-hitter Tyler Houston homered to break a ninth-inning tie, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3.

Houston, batting for Angel Echevarria, drove a 2-0 pitch from Josias Manzanillo (1-1) over the right-field wall for his 14th home run. Houston had been 0-for-6 as a pinch-hitter this season.

Curtis Leskanic (2-2) pitched a perfect eighth for his second victory in the series and Bob Wickman finished for his 16th save.

Pittsburgh opened the first inning with four consecutive hits and took a 3-0 lead against John Snyder.

Warren Morris tripled and scored on Jason Kendall's single. Wil Cordero singled and Brian Giles' hit drove in the second run. Kevin Young added sacrifice fly.

Milwaukee scored twice in the fourth against Jimmy Anderson, who had given up just one unearned run in 14 2-3 innings during his previous two starts.

James Mouton led off with a single, stole second and scored on a double by Geoff Jenkins, who scored on Echevarria's single.

Milwaukee tied it in the the fifth when Henry Blanco singled, advanced on two groundouts and scored on Mouton's single.

After allowing the four hits in the first, Snyder held the Pirates to three singles in the next six innings.
