TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ New York Yankees reserve outfielder Henry Rodriguez could miss at least 2-to-3 weeks because of a strained back muscle.

Rodriguez, who has been slowed by back stiffness, doubled over in pain after trying to pull a ball during batting practice Saturday.

``I felt great this morning,'' Rodriguez said. ``Now it feels uncomfortable.''

General manager Brian Cashman said an MRI found no serious problems. Rodriguez will remain at the Yankees' complex in Florida.

Outfielder Shane Spencer, coming off major knee surgery, could soon start playing rehab games.

``He's coming around,'' Cashman said. ``He isn't ready, but is getting close to playing.''
