ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ Renewing a Florida driver's license may soon be as simple as dropping by the drugstore for a bottle of aspirin.

Under a pilot program, the state plans to set up renewal stations at two Eckerd Drugs stores in Pinellas County this month to see if it helps ease long lines at regular state examining stations.

''We have just got too many drivers and not enough outlets. We need to consider some options,'' said James Sewell, director of management and planning for the state Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

No road tests will be given, so people getting a first-time Florida license will have to go to state examining stations. So will drivers whose licenses have been revoked or suspended.
