University of Wyoming trustee resigns, citing health issues
Oct. 27, 2017
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Larry Gubbels, of Douglas, has resigned from the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees.
In his resignation letter, Gubbels cited health issues for his decision, saying he was not physically able to sustain the board's all-day meetings.
A retired auto dealership owner, Gubbels was appointed to the UW board by Gov. Matt Mead in 2013. His term was to have run through Feb. 28, 2019.
The 12 UW trustees are appointed by the governor, with the consent of the Wyoming Senate.
