Woman Sues Over Homemade Adult Videotape
Oct. 01, 1996
LEXINGTON, Tenn. (AP) _ A woman has sued over a homemade adult videotape _ intended for the private use of herself and her male partner _ that was shown to employees of a video rental store. She said the tape also ended up on another store's rental shelves under the title ``Banana Man.''
When her partner bragged to co-workers at the rental store about the private tape, one of them took the tape from his car and showed it to colleagues, the suit said. Later, the tape was allegedly shown to new store workers at an orientation session and offered for rent at the store where it was copied.
Joanna Norton is seeking $20 million in damages. She named two male employees of the AutoZone rental company as well as a man who is the father of her child.
Officials of Memphis-based AutoZone said the company condemns any kind of sexual harassment and would conduct a vigorous defense.
