LEWES, Del. (AP) — Delaware State Police have arrested a man they say stole power tools from cars parked at home improvement stores and tried to sell them at construction sites.
Troopers say that since late June, tools were taken from unlocked vehicles parked at Home Depot, Lowe's Home Improvement and other stores in Sussex County.
Investigators say that starting in July, a man showed up at various construction sites in the county, offering tools for sale.
Police say that on July 31, a man was seen stealing tools from a truck parked at Lowe's in Lewes. Troopers were notified and stopped the car.
The driver, 41-year-old Richard Rausch Jr. of Lewes, was arrested and charged with 17 counts of theft and numerous other offenses.
