BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) _ Melissa Beil scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Montana State to a 76-68 nonconference women's basketball victory over Southern Utah Tuesday night.
Beil and teammate Blythe Hommes scored 7 points each in a 19-4 run that opened the second half, giving the Lady Bobcats a 57-46 lead.
The Thunderbirds could get no closer than six points in the remaining 13 minutes.
Montana State of the Big Sky Conference, now 3-1 on the season, fell behind in the opening half after allowing the Thunderbirds to shoot 60 percent from the field and trailed 42-38 at the break.
Backing Beil were Hommes with 15 points and Tennyson Ballek and Shanna Smith with 12 points each.
Leading the Thunderbirds, now 0-3, were Myndee Larsen with 12 points and Toni Torres and Cherri Frandsen with 11 each.
