Driver charged with DWI after passenger is killed in crash

RESTON, Va. (AP) — Police in Virginia have charged a driver with driving while intoxicated after a passenger in his car was killed in a head-on collision.
Fairfax County police say in a statement that 45-year-old Jose Jimenez-Yapura was driving south on Baron Cameron Avenue in Reston Sunday afternoon. Investigators say Jimenez-Yapura's car crossed the center median and crashed into a northbound vehicle driven by a 16 year-old.
Authorities say a passenger in Jimenez-Yapura's car, 42-year-old Miguel Jimenez, died at a hospital of injuries received in the crash. Jimenez-Yapura suffered non-life-threatening injuries; the driver of the other car was not hurt.
The crash is under investigation.
