HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP) — A toddler has life threatening injuries after he and a woman were struck while crossing a busy street in Haverhill.
Haverhill Police say the little boy was crossing the street Monday evening with the woman and a man when they were struck. The woman was also injured, but not as severely.
The little boy was taken to Lawrence General Hospital.
The driver, 26-year-old Miguel Velez Jr., tells NBC Boston that someone swerved in front of him, leading him to crash into the boy and woman. He says his prayers are with the boy's family.
