DALLAS (AP) _ Rasheed Wallace had 18 points, eight rebounds and his record-tying 38th technical foul as Portland rumbled past Dallas 96-88 Tuesday night, ending the Mavericks' season-best winning streak at six.
Rod Strickland had eight points and six rebounds in the fourth quarter and Bonzi Wells had nine points in the period as the Trail Blazers vaulted past the Mavs for the fifth spot in the Western Conference.
Dallas, which was seeking its first 6-0 homestand since 1983, couldn't handle Portland's playoff-like intensity and style in the crunch. The Mavericks' jump shooting failed them and their foul-plagued inside players were outmuscled by Wells and Wallace.
Michael Finley led Dallas with 24 points, but scored only five in the fourth quarter. Juwan Howard had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks but fouled out with the game still within reach. Dirk Nowitzki overcame a cold start to score 24 points and grab 13 rebounds.
