Florida State Receiver Injured

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Florida State wide receiver Willie Reid injured his left ankle Thursday, becoming the third Seminoles wideout to be sidelined in the last nine days.
Reid, a tailback who moved to receiver last week to bolster the depleted unit, injured the ankle while running a post route during practice. He had to be carted off the field and will have X-rays Friday when the swelling subsides.
The sixth-ranked Seminoles already lost starters Robert Morgan and Anquan Boldin for the season with knee injuries.
``Right now, we are stretched to the till on offense,'' offensive coordinator Jeff Bowden said. ``We've got people playing a lot of different positions now that had it not been for injuries, wouldn't be the case.''
Bowden thought Reid had suffered only a sprained ankle. Reid, a freshman from Kathleen, Ga., had two catches for 54 yards in the team's second scrimmage Wednesday.
The Seminoles open the season Sept. 1 at Duke.
